Sharing Calendars

This guide is to show the steps involved in accepting a calendar share invite, and also sharing your own. This will allow all members of the Lane Construction team to see each other’s availability, and be able to efficiently find time for meetings, events and other important dates.

You need to have access to a computer for this.

Accepting Calendar Invites

1. Accepting a Calendar Invite

When a calendar is shared with you, an email will appear asking you to accept it. Click ‘Add this calendar’


2. Open Your Calendar

At the top right, click the icon with 3x3 squares, and the Calendar icon that appears.


3. Don’t hit ‘Add’ yet!

It’s possible you’re logged into your personal gmail account—adding to your personal account wouldn’t help you here.

Click Cancel first.


4. Select Your Lane Email

At the top right, click the circle icon. It might be a photo you’ve used, or just the first letter of your name in a circle. Scroll down and select your Lane Construction email.

It should ask you again to Add Calendar. You can now click Add.


5. Showing the New Calendar

You’ve now added your colleague’s calendar. It should show automatically, but in case it didn’t, you can find it by going to the left and expanding Other Calendars.

You can customize their calendars using the three dots beside their email to make it easier to see on your own, or turn off the calendars you don’t need to see.

Sharing Your Calendar

1. Calendar Settings

In the Calendar page, click the three dots beside your name and click ‘Settings and sharing’


2. Inviting Everyone

Scroll down here until you see “Share with specific people or groups”

Select + Add people and groups.


3. Sharing Efficiently

In the email blank provided, add all@laneconstructionservices.ca. This will send an email to everyone in your team directly, instead of having you to do it manually for each person.
